Even if the future seems foggy to you, God has a greater plan for you and will lead you to greater things if you trust in Him. Jeremiah was talking to people who had been exiled from Jerusalem for 70 years. They could have lost hope, but the Lord hadn’t left them alone. He had always had a plan for them, and they had to trust that He would bring them through the hard times and use them for His glory. Even when God’s timeline doesn’t match with our own, even when it feels like there is nothing to look forward to, God has better things in store. His plans for you are greater than you can imagine.
My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road even though I may know nothing about it. Therefore I will trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone. – Thomas Merton
Game Plan: Trust that God will always be looking out for you and will use your struggles for good. Sometimes it can be hard to see hope in the future from your own point of view, but God is always guiding your way and walking with you.
