No matter what kind of a day you’re having or what you’re up against, there is always something to be grateful for. When you’re having a bad day, the best way to turn it around or at least make it more positive is to focus on what you’re grateful for.
Do you have family and friends who care about you? A roof over your head and a warm home? Food and clean water? Are you healthy and able to enjoy the simple pleasures of life such as a sunrise, the change in seasons, a swim in the lake, or a walk on a crisp autumn day? Each day you are given the gift of life and countless blessings from God. Don’t waste your time focusing on what you don’t have, and take the time to appreciate what you do.
Game Plan: Try the Gratitude Challenge. Taking the time to recognize the things in your life that you’re grateful for can increase your level of happiness and help you open your eyes to all of the blessings in your life. However, if you’re like me, starting a gratitude journal might feel a little overwhelming to sit down and write every day. The Gratitude Challenge is writing down just 3 things that you’re grateful for, each day for 10 days. 10 days is doable to start, right? What are 3 things you are grateful for right now?
