Living an intentional life means waking up and realizing that each day is full of decisions and opportunities, and making choices that are in line with your values and beliefs. You get to choose your attitude and the way you live your life, and your decisions should reflect the person you want to be. Choose to live your life intentionally and on purpose rather than drifting through life without one.
We often get caught up on the word ‘purpose’ and think that it has to be something outrageously amazing and something to be written about on the front page of a newspaper, without realizing that our purpose might be something amazingly simple. Put your hand on your heart. Feel that? That’s called ‘purpose.’ You’re alive for a reason. Don’t give up.
Game Plan: How has the 10-day Gratitude Challenge been going for you? Today is the 10th day and whether you’ve been remembering to do it consistently or not, you can intentionally make a change right now! Try this exercise called the ‘gratitude alphabet’: before you get out of bed in the morning (or right now!), think of one thing starting with each letter of the alphabet that you are grateful for. It can be a person, place, memory, food… it can either be something really grand or just the feeling you get when you have a fresh pack of hockey cards and are excited to see who’s inside. If you can think of 26 blessings in your life today, it won’t be easy to have a bad day.
