Life is just a lot better when you’re having 10 wins a day rather than a win every 10 years or so. – Chris Hadfield
How do you define success? When we think of the accomplishments in our lives, we often think about those momentous occasions when everything we have been working for culminates into something really big. But those really big moments don’t happen every day, and defining success narrowly can lead to a lot of satisfactory days because the little moments have a lot to live up to. It’s those little things that lead to the big things, and they can also bring us a lot of happiness if we let them.
Game Plan: Try to take notice of all of the little things that you accomplish today. Were you able to do something on your own? Did you do a short exercise DVD even though you really didn’t feel like it? Did you set aside time for yourself to take a break? Be grateful for those little things that fill you with bliss: giving yourself time in the morning to stay in your warm and cozy bed for an extra 10 minutes, connecting with a stranger when you smile at them and they smile back, catching a beautiful sunrise or sunset… celebrate the little things.
“Enjoy the little things, for one day you make look back and realize they were the big things.” – Robert Brault
