Heart and Ice Power Play - Swim

You gotta swim.

Swim for your life.

Some days it can be hard to get out of bed.  It’s hard to get through the day and keep your head above the water.  But even if you lack motivation and energy, just keep swimming.  It’s not always easy to see, but there are brighter days ahead.

I swim for brighter days
Despite the absence of sun
Choking on salt water
I’m not giving in
I swim

Fight for yourself and for those you love.  Don’t let it take over you.  Life has its challenges, but you can make it through.

Just keep your head above


Game Plan:  There will always be bad days, whether they happen once in awhile or more often than not.  Remember in the bad days that there will be brighter days again – don’t lose hope.  If you feel up to it, try going for a short ‘meditative walk’.  In time with the steps that you take, tap your thumb to your index finger, middle finger, ring finger, and pinky (four counts to inhale, four steps), and then tap your pinky, ring finger, middle finger, and index finger as you exhale.  Focus on the grounding feeling of each foot rolling from heel to toe on the ground as you walk.  The practice of meditative breathing as well as getting outside for a walk will help to center your mind and help you relax.  If you can’t or don’t feel like getting outside, sit in a quiet place, close your eyes, and practice the same deep breathing exercise while tapping your fingers.
