Remember it’s only in the black of night you can see the stars. And those stars will lead you back home. – Coach Whitey Durham, One Tree Hill (ep. 315)
Even in the darkest night, there is hope in the distance. There is always something good, something to be grateful for. Look for the good even in those really tough places, and that little bit of hope can help to hold you until the sun comes out. Keep looking for those stars and rainbows.
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; on those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, a light has dawned (Isaiah 9:2).
Game Plan: Having a ‘me day’ (as they say on Parks and Rec, “treat yo self!”) whether you have a few hours in the afternoon or at night while watching HNIC, helps you to feel like you’re taking care of yourself and makes you feel good on the inside as well as out. Paint your nails, give yourself a foot bath (perfect for when you’re watching hockey as long as you don’t get angry and splash water everywhere), make a hair masque with items you already have in your kitchen… make it fun, and treat yourself!
