When you focus on what you can’t control, you are taking that focus and energy off of what you can. You can’t control what other people will do (and sometimes no matter what you do you can’t control a bouncing puck), but you can manage yourself and your reaction. Don’t let those things that you can’t control distract you from what you can. Recognize the factors that are out of your control, and learn from what you do have power over to improve yourself or your game.

- Thoughts. You are able to control the thoughts that go through your brain. Turn your mental TV to the positive, empowering channel.
- Emotions. If you can control your thoughts, you can control your emotions and the way that you respond to a situation. Don’t let other people get under your skin.
Focus on what you can control and don’t let what you can’t control affect your confidence.
