#193: Power Play – Weakness

He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.  That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties.  For when I am weak, then I am strong.  (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

We don’t need to try to hide our weaknesses, because it is through them that God gives us strength.  It is through our weaknesses that we can feel close to him and learn to lean on him.  Everyone has weaknesses, and God knows that we will make mistakes, but what pleases him is when we call on him for help and learn from our experiences.  We rely on God to help us through times of weakness, his strength and love guiding us through those tough times.  Let him take over and pull you close to him.  Don’t be ashamed to admit that you are weak and need help, because God’s grace is enough.  When we acknowledge our limitations, we are letting Christ take over.  In knowing that you are weak and that you need God, the stronger you become in Him.

Game Plan:  A prayer for today: God, you are the one who gives me the strength to face hard times, just as everything good has come through you.  It is through weakness, insults, hardships, persecutions, and difficulties that your power and love overwhelm me and guide me through.  Help me to remember this and give everything over to you, not being ashamed that I am weak, but boasting in the fact that everything I need comes from you.  For when I am weak, then I am strong.  Amen.
