Let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love. – 1 John 3:18
Love is a decision that you make every day when you choose to forgive, respect someone’s opinion even if you don’t agree, compromise, accept their differences, encourage them, and make time for them. If the way that you talk to friends or acquaintances is more loving and respectful than the way you talk to those you love, think about the message it sends. I think that we can all fall into that – you might get easily annoyed or frustrated with someone, or maybe you don’t show that you’re interested in what they’re saying, the way you would when you’re having a conversation with someone you want to impress. We become comfortable and know they will love us even if we get into an argument or treat them poorly. Let’s try to change that. Of course it’s okay to have disagreements, but make sure that the love and respect is always there.
Game Plan: Let those people know that you love them, and make the decision to choose actions that show them that every day.
