The key question is, ‘are you spending your time on the right things?’ Because time is all you have. – Randy Pausch
This is something that I sometimes struggle with if I’m feeling particularly self-conscious. Someone might say that watching 6 straight hours of hockey on Saturday night (it’s Hockey Night!), cutting out hundreds of little circles for a waxed paper chandelier, or writing this blog is a waste of time. And to them it might be, but those are all things that I enjoy doing, so for me, it’s not time being wasted. Really, you could make the argument that anything is a waste of time. I might spend a lot of time reading through Twitter and Facebook, and it helps to pass the time if I’m bored, but that’s not something that I really enjoy doing. But if it’s something that you love or is important to you, it is not wasted time. Time is all you have, and you can choose what you want to do with it.
Game Plan: Are you spending your time on the right things? Make time for the things you enjoy doing and reconsider the things that don’t give you satisfaction or enjoyment.
