When you make loving others the story of your life, there’s never a final chapter, because the legacy continues. You lend your light to one person, and he or she shines it on another and another and another. And I know for sure that in the final analysis of our lives – when the to-do lists are no more, when the frenzy is finished, when our e-mail inboxes are empty – the only thing that will have any lasting value is whether we’ve loved others and whether they’ve loved us. – Oprah Winfrey, What I Know For Sure
You are wildly, fiercely, boldly loved. You. You are never truly alone, and no matter what, you will never be unlovable. God’s love is everlasting. It never fails. We all want to feel loved and special, but that doesn’t come from the outside – it develops from within. God has given us the power to love ourselves and then share that love with others. To accept love, you have to believe that you’re worthy of it, and that comes from loving yourself.
Do all things with love … love for yourself, love for all others, and love for me. – The God Memorandum
When you feel the magnitude of God’s love for you, you can cultivate that love for yourself and are able to love others. And not just those that you care about or are on your team, but also those who are difficult to love or have very different opinions. Love for yourself and others is the greatest way you can show God how much you love him.
Game Plan: Know that you are infinitely loved. Take that feeling and make it your mission to spread some of that love out into the world.
